A festive gift
The event coincided with the Holy Month of Ramadan. It certainly seemed like divine intervention for A.T.K.Abdulla when his raffle ticket number was declared the winner of the top prize at the October 2005 Grand Draw of the Arabian Gulf Raffles. Fittingly enough, Abdulla said,“This Lexus is a God-given Eid gift”.

The grand draw was held on October 16 at the Hilton Hotel. Ms.Salama Atiq, representing the Bahrain National Coaching Institute, picked the lucky winner at the Grand Draw which was telecast live by Jeevan TV.

Partners in good fortune
Shiju had this feeling that he was not lucky. He met Jooby Jacob who shared a similar feeling about himself. Yet, for some (obviously lucky) reason, the two decided to combine their luck and bought a joint raffle ticket, bearing no. 1881, from Paul Thomas. Guess what! The two won the Grand Prize at the August 2005 Grand Draw of the Arabian Gulf Raffles, held at the Hilton Hotel on August 14, 2005. For following their instincts, fortune favored them with the magnificent Lexus ES 300.

Are you surprised that they have changed notions about their luck now? So much so, they have become regular participants at all Arabian Gulf Raffle draws. After all, Dame Luck is not shy of smiling on anyone a second time!

Jooby Jacob, an Indian national from Kerala, works in Bahrain at the Gulf Daily News printing press. Shiju, who hails from the same state in India, runs his own gents' salon in Gudaibiya.

As always, the Grand Draw was followed by some pulsating music played by a live band that entertained the over 1000 guests who turned up at the event. The Grand Draw was also telecast live on Jeevan TV, a prestigious channel of the Khaleej & EastWorld LLC.

Yes, that is the story of Sabu Joseph, the lucky owner of Ticket No. 1591, who won the Grand Prize of the fantastic Lexus ES300 at the Arabian Gulf Raffles Grand Draw on June 12, 2005. As one would expect, Sabu was thrilled to bits when he came to know of winning the grand prize (he was not present at the event on the day—Mohammed Shawki Ahmed, Journalist and PR coordinator of Ebrahim K.Kanoo picked up the winning ticket on Sabu’s behalf).

Sabu opted to sell the luxurious car he won. In fact, he sold it directly from the showroom from a buyer who was very keen to get hold of the “Lucky Car”.

The grand draw that crowned Sabu Joseph the winner was held at the Hilton Hotel and was graced by Dr.Conrad Milne, representative of the Bahrain National Coaching Institute and Sami Ebrahim, Radio Bahrain DJ. Attended by hundreds of supporters who were entertained to some pulsating music, the event was also telecast on Jeevan TV.

Literally, the Lady brought her Luck!
“It felt like fireworks” – Shiju Abraham, a young native of the state of Kerala in the Republic of India, recalls the explosive moment when his name was called out by Dr.Conrad Milne at the Hilton Hotel on March 12, 2005.

Having just returned to work at the Bahrain Workshop Company after his marriage holidays, Shiju won a Jaguar X-type car in the grand draw. Lady Luck’s wedding gift to him, he says. Could he have asked for a better beginning to his new life?

Angel of Luck Calls at the Sunday Mass!
A cold Sunday evening in December 2004. Tony R.Alley, a Seychelles national, was attending the Sunday Mass at the Sacred Heart Church when he received a call on his mobile phone from Selma Lobo of Arabian Gulf Raffles.

Tony felt blessed, his prayers answered. He had just won for himself the prestigious Jaguar X-Type!
